Friday Sep 27, 2019
Friday Sep 27, 2019
This week, Joe and James discuss the reign of terror cast upon a nation by a man who isolated himself from society, and cast nationwide fear for almost 2 decades, Ted Kaczynski AKA the UNABOMBER.
Discussions on WHY someone so brilliant would turn so dark lead to looking back at Kaczynski's view towards the world and how his life experiences may have shaped that view. As well as discussing the investigative process that overwhelmed the FBI, the topic of Ted's younger brother David comes up. David was the the key in unlocking the mystery of who the UNABOMBER was. Also, a 'guest' jumps in for some quick fact-checking.
Please take a minute and head over to Apple Podcast to give A Dark Tale a quick rating, maybe a review of a particular episode. Believe it or not, it does help the show. We really appreciate any and all support!! Thank you.

A Discussion on Terminology
Wednesday Sep 11, 2019
Wednesday Sep 11, 2019
This week Joe and James have a discussion on the terms "Psychopath" and "Sociopath", how they fit into modern psychology and what is specifically meant by those terms when used in every day conversation.
A loose conversation which touches on the theoretical foundations of what makes one a psychopath, how every day people may exhibit the same traits at one time or another, the damaging ways in which some people process emotions, and why Super Smash Bros is total bullshit.
We also follow up on the case of the Death of Eric Garner, where officer Pantaleo was not indicted for the homicide. (Update between recording and uploading, Pantaleo's employment with the NYPD has been terminated as of August 19th)

An Interview with Sarah Turney
Thursday Sep 05, 2019
Thursday Sep 05, 2019
Today we hear the tale of Alissa Turney who, in 2001, went missing from Phoenix, Arizona. With nothing but a note saying she was running away her stepfather, Michael Roy Turney, retains she ran to California to this day. Years later, Michael was arrested for stashing home-made explosives with intent to commit an act of domestic terrorism and his claim that Alissa had run away was looked at with more scrutiny. While Michael was imprisoned, his daughter and Alissa's sister Sarah had begun to see the truth that her father was a completely different man than she had previously believed.
Today she joins us and tells us the story from her perspective, how she began to see past her fathers narrative, and why she believes that Michael killed her sister.
